Assembly

Today it was our assembly and there were 5 items We Will Rock you, a book we made, a dance called Zorba (By the boys), a play (By the girls) and a 12 days of Christmas video (Boys made their own so did girls and our teacher.) I did the Zorba, We Will Rock You, book and 12 days of Christmas. Have a look. First we introduced  ourselves, then we sang the national anthem, then we sang We Will Rock you, then 8 juniors got certificates,  then we read our book, then 6 middles school students got certificates, then the boys did zorba, then 6 seniors got certificates, then the girls did a play, then the teacher gave house points, caught being goods and other notice, then 12 days of Christmas, then class of the week and finally I personally said a goodbye. I liked dancing but it was kind of challenging especially speaking in front of the whole school. My next step is to speak more confidently. I might want to give others chances to shine next time.  Here is the music to the Zorba: Here is our book: Here is the national anthem: Here is our Zorba dance: Here is the some of the girls play: Here is We Will Rock You:

Polygons

Today and yesterday we learnt about polygons. I learnt that polygons have no gaps and no curves. Shapes I know that are polygons are triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, heptagons, octagons, nonagons and decagons. I have created my own polygons. One is a person holding a sign and a dog and my other one is a polygon mansion.

The deca/penta tree

This is the deca tree promblem this is how it works. On a a deca tree One day a wood cutter came down and cut one trunk, one branch, one twig and one leave. How many leaves were left on the tree? You will see my working and then you will see my drawing of a penta tree. A penta tree is the same as a deca tree, except there is five trunks, on each trunk there are five branches,on each branch there are five twigs, on each twig there are five leaves. the strategie I used was subtraction  Here is my working: If this work is too small for you it says deca tree has ten thousand leaves, one thousand twigs one hundred branches and ten trunks. One trunks takes away ten branches = ninety branches, one hundred twigs = nine hundred and one thousand leaves = nine thousand. On branch takes away one branch = eighty nine twigs = eight hundred and ninety and one hundred leaves = eight thousand nine hundred. One twig takes away one twig = eight hundred and eighty nine and ten leaves = eight thousand eight hundred and ninety. One leave takes away one leave = eight thousand eight hundred and eighty nine ANSWER 8889 This is the penta tree

Poi

Today we made poi. It was hard to cut the sponge at first, but I got the hang of it. When I was cutting, it was getting boring and my arms were getting sore so I asked Mr Owen to help. I was struggling to put the plastic bag around the sponge but I did it. It was easy to put the string in the hole and also to wrap the string and sellotape around the plastic bag.

The incredibles superpower

What should the next superpower be for the incredibles? I would have super speed. I would love to race people and pretend i was slow. I would use this to dodge attack in battle. This superpower would mainly be used to dodge attacks in battle, but I would also use it to race others.

Bringing things to the 1930s

If i Could bring somethings to the 1930s I would bring i phone 8, tablet i pad other digital devices, new  modern soccer ball, modern rugby ball and modern clothes. These are the reasons I think we should take all this stuff to the 1930s. Devices could show people from the 1930s more things, Modern soccer and rugby balls are much lighter and I think that the clothes today are much nicer than clothes in the 1930s.

Tapu Wae

In our class we play Tapu Wae, a traditional Maori game. People use different rules but these are the rules we use in our class. There are three different sections middle, defensive and attack. On each end of the court there is a circle, in the circle there are three cones and a defender. The attackers job is to knock the cones down without moving and with defenders trying to intercept the pass, with the same thing on the other endRelated imageRelated image. There is 1 person from each side in the middle trying to catch the ball if it goes out of play, and if the people in the middle catch the ball they pass the ball the to there attackers. The winner is the team who knock the 3 cones first.

Would I like to have 9 siblings?

Would I like to have 9 siblings?

No way, 9 is too many!

We  would probably have a bus and it would be squishy.

The couch would be squishy.

It would cost too much money for 12 bean bags for us to sit on and be comfortable.

I think that we wouldn´t get on well all the time.  Sometimes I fight with my brothers.

These are the reasons why I don´t want 9 siblings.

Comparing a Wharepuni with my house

Today i will tell you 2 things that are the same in a Wharepuni and in my house.
A Wharepuni has a door and windows just like my house.
A Wharepuni would be made of natural material such as wood, flax and harakeke, which in my house we use glass and aluminium.

Maui and the giant fish

Today I read a mith about Maui and the giant fish
These are 3 facts about the Maui:
1. Maui asked his brothers if he could go fishing with his older brothers but they said... ...NO.
2.The giant fish that Maui caught became known as the North Island of Aotearoa after Maui's brothers chopped the fish up.
3.I think Maui is strong because he pulled a gigantic fish from the ocean and I think he is cheeky to sneak into his brothers canoe.
